First start
Power up the TIS Tronic 260U for the first time and work through the six initial settings — operating mode, fan type, pump start temperature, exhaust sensor and more.
Switch on at the back panel, wait for the welcome screen, then hold F for three seconds and work through six initial settings before the boiler is fired. The controller starts in an inactive state — the yellow STOP light is on — which is exactly where you want it while you configure.
Power up
Switch on
Use the switch on the back panel of the controller.
Wait for the welcome screen
A welcome screen appears, followed by one of the main screens.
Confirm it is inactive
The controller is in inactive mode, indicated by the yellow STOP light on the front panel, constantly illuminated.
Check the screens rotate
Press F briefly to move between the main screens. Greyed-out screens are modules that are not yet configured.
Do not press START yet
Configure the controller before the first fire. The factory defaults are generic across the whole TIS range and will not burn correctly in a UNI 60.
Initial setup
Hold F for 3 seconds to enter the main menu. The most important settings are:
Boiler operation mode
Choose Standard, Brager Expert or Brager Expert exhaust gases. MBtek recommends Brager Expert exhaust gases for the UNI 60 — it requires the PT1000 sensor. See Operating modes.
Fan type
Set to WPA 07 / DM85 — the type used on UNI units. The other supported option is 06/145 / DM80.
Selecting the correct type avoids a "dead band" in which changing the fan parameters produces no visible change in fan operation.
Pump start temperature
MBtek value: 35 °C / 95 °F. All active pumps switch on above this boiler temperature and switch off when it drops 5 °C below.
Exhaust gas sensor
Activate it if the PT1000 is fitted. An additional main screen appears, and Brager Expert exhaust gases mode becomes available.
Fuel shortage detection method
Choose whether the boiler decides the fire is out from the boiler temperature sensor or the exhaust gas sensor. See Quenching and fuel shortage.
Temperature scale
Celsius or Fahrenheit. This documentation gives both; the controller's own ranges are stated in °C.

The menu is grouped into category sections: User menu, Thermostat menu, HUW menu, Boiler settings, Brager Expert, plus Software version, Reset to factory settings and Language selection.
Note the software version
Open the Software version item and write the number down. Support calls go faster when you know it.
Reset to factory settings
There is a factory reset in the menu — use it if a boiler has been mis-set and you want a clean baseline, then reapply the MBtek recommended settings immediately afterwards.
